Why self care is important ? Why should a mother or a women prioritize herself? Well these might be some questions in your mind. Self care is not only luxurious but also a necessity for all the working women, mothers who work endlessly for their family and kids. So, how can we ignore their comfort who always thinks of others comfort first. Self care is important for every women around us and it is the responsibility of her family to help her. There are some basic self care tips for women which must be followed.

Physical Self care

1.Exercise:

For maintaining good physical health and well being it is necessary to do exercise whether it is yoga, dancing, walking at any time you want. Mostly early morning exercises are preferred to boost mind with the freshness of air. Exercise helps to reduce stress, risk of dangerous disease ,weight management, and also improves immune system.

2.Eat healthy diet

Prefer to eat healthy food such as foods rich in proteins, carbs and fibers. These food are not only healthy but also helps to maintain body weight. Avoid junk foods rich in fats and cholesterol. The more nutrients a body gets, more healthy results it will show. A healthy diet also contributes to shiny and strong hairs. If someone is facing hair loss problem ,then the change should be in diet not in shampoos.

3.Rest

Adjust a proper sleep schedule so that body gets enough sleep of 7-8 hours daily. Proper sleep helps brain to function properly. If you don’t have enough time for sleep ,then try to adjust nap schedules in between the day to fulfil sleep requirement of body.

4.Hydrate yourself

Drink enough water throughout the day to avoid headache, fatigue and dizziness. Water helps to regulate body temperature and transport important nutrients through the body. More the water provided to body, more waste it will release out of body in the form of sweat and urine.

5.Personal hygiene

Maintain good personal hygiene by taking bath regularly, using sanitary pads in periods, brushing daily, living in clean environment. Try to wash hairs twice a week and trim nails to prevent dirt build up. Wear clean clothes to maintain freshness. Good personal hygiene spreads positivity around us.

Mental Self care

1.Attachment

Prefer to spend time with your loved ones, with whom you feel attached and connected. Live with those who maintains inner child within you. Embark new connections to build social community to help in worries ,to celebrate festival whole-heartedly. Mind knows which is good ,which is bad.so if mind gets positive environment it will also respond positively.

2.Set limits

Learn to avoid things that hurts you. Value only those who values you but don’t misbehave with anyone. Prioritize your needs. If you are healthy then your whole family is healthy. So take care of yours first. Prioritize happy moments for you.

3.Hobbies

Engage in relaxing hobbies, which gives you mental peace. Everybody has its own unique hobby such as some loves painting while other may love dancing. So follow these hobbies for your happiness. Adjust time for your happiness.

4.Express emotions

Express emotions, cry out loud if your heart feels heavy, express your worries to your partner, never face any problem alone. May be your partner has the solution for it .never share your problems to everybody, share only to those which are close to you ,and you have trust on them. If you never express yourself then who will understand you, expression is the best language.

Spiritual Self care

1.Nature time

Spends time in nature to fill positivity in body by nature freshness. It is well said that nature heals everything. You will learn many things from nature, so try to make nature ,a part of your life.

2.Spiritual practices

Focus on spiritual activities such as prayer, kirtans and bhajan. These helps us to connect with god and during this period ,we all forget about our worries. Its my personal experience ,whenever i feel depressed i visit temple, used to spend about half-an- hour over there.

  • Enjoy small achievements for self confidence.
  • Learn new skill and new hobby to realize that you are worth going.
  • Never underestimate your inner passion.
  • Plan small trips regularly.
  • Limit screen time and focus on your inner love.
